DISTRIBUTION CENTER: FREIGHT & SHIPPING ASSOCIATE 1^st Shift - SEASONAL

School Health Corporation is the leading provider of medical supplies to schools, universities, and sports teams nationwide. Our family-owned business has a need to bring on seasonal employees during the summer months for warehouse workers, in our new facility.

We are hiring Seasonal Freight & Shipping Associates. This position is responsible for picking/packing freight orders, and shipping freight and small parcel orders using shipping software in a Distribution Center. We anticipate this position will last through mid-September, with permanent hire opportunity. Current shift hours are 9am - 5pm and overtime including Saturdays may be required. Hours will change to summer hours of 1:30pm - 9:30pm for June through September. Beginning in June, 2nd shift workers will earn 1$/hr. shift differential.

Hourly Rate $17.00

Responsibilities include:

• Pick full case overstock freight orders
• Operate handheld scanner to pick order
• Ensure orders are picked accurately based on product description and quantity
• Remove picked totes from conveyor for packing
• Verify all contents were picked in correct quantities prior to packing
• Select right size shipping carton and packing materials to pack out order
• Print and attach packing slips
• Stack packed cartons onto pallet
• Capture package dimensions and weight using dimensioning machine
• Print and affix shipping label using shipping software
• Attach pre-printed packing slips to full case orders
• Capture package dimensions and weight using dimensioning machine
• Print and affix shipping label using shipping software
• Attach pre-printed packing slips to full case orders
• Clean up work areas at end of shift
• Assist other departments/functions as needed
• Meet daily productivity goals

Basic Requirements:

• Ability to work Monday-Friday (or Saturday) some weekends will be required based on business needs; flexible schedules are available
• Previous warehouse experience with an RF scanner and manual or electric pallet jack preferred but not required.
• Self-motivated
• Team player

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and use a manual or electric pallet jack
• Ability to stay on feet for long periods of time

Work Environment

• Work in a warehouse environment throughout seasonal temperature variations
• Use of proper safety procedures to ensure workplace safety
